How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A well established manufacturer of electronic and optoelectronic products is now looking for Manufacturing Technicians to join their Taunton based manufacturing site.
    Right to Work: UK Passport, ILR, Settled Status, or Pre-Settled Status Essential. No Licence to sponsor.
    Job Outline:
    We are now looking for Manufacturing Technicians to join a leading manufacturer of electronic and optoelectronic products to join their Taunton based manufacturing site.
    Vacancies include :
    Lab Technician / Manufacturing Technician
    Would suit a Technician who has experience in a production environment, handling chemicals (including bulk handling up to 25kg).
    Working in a small team, you will perform processes such as cleaning, testing and etching of small precise components and assemblies.
    As Lab Technician you will be carrying out various processes in a production environment whilst working safely to Health & Safety/COSHH standards.
    This role is offered on a standard day shift, with an immediate start. c£12.81 – 13.75 per hour
    Experience:
    As the successful candidate you should have experience working within a Laboratory Environment, ideally running processes such as cleaning, testing, etching,
    Experience in electroplating is advantageous, but not a necessity.
    Machining Technician
    We are looking to recruit a Precision Machining Technician to carry out various machining and associated processes in the production of precision components.
    The role will involve mounting, machining, cleaning off & checking work amongst other associated production tasks, following drawings & works instructions and working to high Health & Safety/COSHH standards.
    You will be working in a small team working 35 hours per week on standard day shifts with flexibility. up to £13.31 per hour for experienced candidates.
    Experience:
    Previous machining experience would be preferred, but also a person not long out of college would be considered.
    Level 2/3 in Engineering preferred.
    Plating Technician
    Responsible for conducting plating and surface treatment operations on a wide range of components. This will include component preparation, pre-treatments, application of coating & plating materials and post processing components ready for the next production step.
    The role will involve electro-plating, etching, cleaning & testing amongst other associated production tasks as well as bulk handling of chemicals whilst working safely to Health & Safety/COSHH standards.
    You will be working in a small team and working standard day shifts with flexibility. c£15-£16.50 per hour
    Experience and Qualifications:
    Ideally you should have experience in a surface treatments facility, including safely handling chemicals, surface preparation and lapping, chemical etching, cleaning and plating pre-treatment processes.
    You should have a good eye for detail; and have the ability to read and accurately follow work instructions, along with a good technical ability and understanding of manufacturing equipment.
    You should have a basic awareness of Health and Safety legislation.
    Ideally you will be qualified to the Institute of Metal Finishing Technician level.
    Additional Information:
    Candidates MUST be eligible to work and live in the UK without ever requiring sponsorship. Copies of Passports and Visas will be requested for verification.
    Salary / benefits:
    Depending upon experience and role, we can offer in the region of £12.81 to £14 per hour. For those with greater experience in Plating up to £16 per hour.
