Mechanical Maintenance Fitter (Nights – 4 on / 4 off)
Location: Walsall
Salary: £60,700 basic | £62,000+ OTE + overtime

We’re looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer / Fitter to join a well-established heavy industrial manufacturing site offering strong earnings, stability, and long-term progression.

This is a nights-based role with a structured shift pattern, excellent earning potential, and the opportunity to work within a skilled engineering team focused on reliability and continuous improvement.

Package

* £60,700 basic salary

Role Overview

* Respond to mechanical breakdowns to minimise downtime

* Fault finding and root cause analysis on plant and equipment

* Planned maintenance and TPM activities

* Workshop repair, overhaul, and refurbishment work

* Support installation and improvement projects

* Work closely with shift engineering teams

Environment

* Heavy industrial machinery and production plant

* Hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, and mechanical drives

* Workshop and site-based maintenance work

Requirements

* Mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 / Apprenticeship / City & Guilds)

* Experience in mechanical maintenance or fitting

* Strong fault-finding and repair ability

* Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics

* Ability to read technical drawings

* Welding/fabrication skills desirable

Shift Pattern

* 4 on / 4 off (nights)

* 40.25 hours per week

* 8-week cycle
