Overview
We are supporting the appointment of an Engineering Director for a major UK infrastructure programme. This is a senior leadership role reporting to the Chief Technical Officer, responsible for leading programme-wide engineering delivery and ensuring design is delivered to required quality, maturity, cost and schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Programme Engineering Teams and Risk & Opportunities function
Ensure delivery of a safe, mature, high-quality design aligned to cost and schedule
Drive replication of an existing reference design
Oversee configuration management and design integration across programmes
Act as senior escalation point for complex technical challenges
Discharge Principal Designer responsibilities under CDM regulations
Lead technical risk management and strategic response to programme-level issues
Work closely with delivery teams, supply chain and design partnersCandidate Profile
Director-level experience in major infrastructure or nuclear projects
Strong background in engineering leadership across complex programmes
Experience delivering within regulated environments (nuclear highly desirable)
Strong understanding of design governance, configuration management and risk
Ability to influence at senior stakeholder level (internal and external)

Salary description
