How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Electrical Shift Engineer – City of London – £55,000 + Benefits

    We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Shift Engineer to join a leading building services provider at a prestigious commercial site in the City of London. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a high-profile environment, offering long-term stability, structured training, and clear progression into senior roles.

    The Role:
    As an Electrical Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and fault finding of electrical systems within a critical environment. You will work as part of a shift team to ensure all plant and equipment operates efficiently and safely.

    Shift Pattern:

    * Continental shift pattern

    * Days & nights (7:00am – 7:00pm / 7:00pm – 7:00am)

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance

    * Fault finding on electrical systems and associated plant

    * Working on LV systems, lighting, emergency lighting, and control panels

    * Ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations

    * Supporting site operations and liaising with clients when required

    Requirements:

    * Fully qualified electrician (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)

    * 18th Edition (essential)

    * Experience within commercial or critical environments

    * Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills

    * Ability to work effectively within a shift team

    Package:

    * Salary: £55,000 per annum
