How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Receptionist / Repairs Scheduler (Housing Services)

    Permanent

We are working with one of our Housing clients to help them recruit for a Receptionist with strong administration and scheduling experience to join a busy housing and property services team within a resident‑focused organisation.

This is a varied, front‑facing role that sits at the heart of responsive repairs and property services. You'll act as the first point of contact for residents and visitors, while also playing a key role in scheduling repairs, coordinating contractors, and ensuring works are delivered efficiently and compliantly.

    The role

    You'll be responsible for:

Managing reception duties and handling enquiries face‑to‑face, by phone and email
Logging and scheduling responsive repairs, communal works and void works
Coordinating appointments between residents, surveyors, operatives and contractors
Tracking damp, mould and disrepair cases, ensuring documentation and records are accurate
Applying priority times and schedule of rates to repair orders
Monitoring progress of works and following up to ensure completion
Supporting invoice processing, compliance checks and performance reporting
Maintaining clear communication with residents throughout the repairs process

What our client is looking for

Experience in a reception, front‑of‑house or customer‑facing admin role
Previous experience within housing, property, repairs or maintenance (highly desirable)
Strong scheduling, coordination and diary management skills
Excellent attention to detail and confidence using systems and trackers (including Excel)
A calm, organised approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities
Confident communicator who enjoys working with residents and internal teams
Knowledge of repairs processes, compliance or Awaab's Law is desirable but not essential
Please note due to the nature of this role, it will be on site 5 days per week.

    What's on offer

    Salary of £32,907-£34,359 per annum
27 days annual leave plus bank holidays (increasing with service)
    Local Government Pension Scheme
Two paid volunteering / give‑back days per year
Supportive, inclusive culture with learning and development opportunities
A role where you can make a genuine difference to residents' day‑to‑day experience
    Salary description

    £32907.00 - £34359.00 per year
