How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Shift Maintenance Engineer/Site Maintenance Engineer role itself where you will be at the heart of ensuring operational excellence.     You will have

    To be successful as a Shift Maintenance Engineer/Site Maintenance Engineer, you will have a healthy mix of the following:

    Recognised engineering qualification, such as ONC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

    Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer with a mechanical focus, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

    Strong electrical and mechanical skills, with knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, PLC, and steam systems.

    Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new IT systems, including CMMS software.

    Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

    High attention to detail and a structured, methodical approach.

    Capacity to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organisation.

    Willingness to work flexible hours, including permanent night shifts if required.

    Commitment to adhering to health and safety standards

    You will get

    As a Shift Maintenance Engineer, you'll enjoy a competitive annual salary in the range of £40,000 to £49,950, depending on your experience and qualifications.

    The role offers 28 days holiday per annum, plus additional hours or days by agreement.

    The company also provides a structured shift pattern with 12-hour shifts, 3-4 days PW as fixed night or day shifts.
