Media Sales Planner - Podcast & Audio

A leading media business is bringing all of its podcast activity together under one dedicated studios division, housing original in‑house productions, hosted third‑party shows, and recently acquired creator‑led studios. The portfolio already includes some of the UK’s most successful podcasts across news, sport and entertainment, with ambitious plans to continue growing content output and commercial revenue.
The Sales Planner role sits at the centre of this growth, supporting podcast partnerships and helping turn strong content into commercially effective campaigns.
Key responsibilities
- Build media plans, with ownership of availability checks, blocklists and costings
- Support podcast partnership leads with brief responses, sourcing audience data, case studies and insight to create compelling sales proposals
- Own the campaign handover to delivery teams, ensuring campaigns are set up exactly as sold
- Join relevant client and agency meetings to support early conversations, advise on show selection, explain plans and answer technical questions
How the role is structured
- Content discovery and awareness: staying close to what is trending and what content is launching next
- Building a pipeline of shows and creators to approach, aligned with wider content strategy
- Pitching and selling: confidently presenting ideas and propositions to shows, agents and partners
- Industry insight: keeping up to date with podcast market trends, competitors, research and technology
- Internal collaboration: working with commercial, content, marketing, tech and editorial teams
A genuine interest in podcasts and digital audio is essential, as strong knowledge of the content underpins both credibility and success in the role.
