We’re working in partnership with a well-established UK contractor with a strong reputation across infrastructure, electrical services, and specialist civil engineering. As part of continued growth and expansion into the utilities sector, they are now seeking an experienced ICP Manager to lead and develop their HV/LV connections business.
This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a growing ICP function, with full responsibility for shaping strategy, winning work, and delivering projects across the UK.
The Opportunity
This is a senior leadership role where you’ll be responsible for building and scaling an ICP (NERS) offering from an established platform. You’ll play a key role in driving growth, developing client relationships, and ensuring high-quality delivery across all projects.
Key Responsibilities
Business Growth & Strategy
* Lead the development and expansion of the ICP / HV-LV connections business
* Identify and secure new opportunities across utilities, infrastructure, and development sectors
* Build and maintain relationships with DNOs, IDNOs, developers, and key clients
* Drive long-term growth strategy and commercial performance
Tendering & Commercial Delivery
* Oversee bids and tenders, ensuring competitive and compliant submissions
* Take ownership of project mobilisation and successful delivery
* Manage budgets, programme performance, and commercial outcomes
Operational Leadership
* Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team
* Oversee delivery of contestable works in line with industry standards
* Manage engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors across multiple sites
Compliance & Governance
* Ensure full compliance with NERS and industry regulations
* Support or work towards Assessing Officer responsibilities
* Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence
About You
* Proven experience in ICP / utility connections (HV/LV, contestable works)
* Strong understanding of NERS accreditation and DNO/IDNO environments
* Track record of delivering projects and ideally contributing to business growth
* Commercially aware with experience managing budgets and performance
* Leadership experience with the ability to build and manage teams
* HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
