How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Nottingham (Preferred, Flexible)
    £50,000 – £80,000 per annum + Package
    Permanent

We’re working in partnership with a well-established UK contractor with a strong reputation across infrastructure, electrical services, and specialist civil engineering. As part of continued growth and expansion into the utilities sector, they are now seeking an experienced ICP Manager to lead and develop their HV/LV connections business.

This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a growing ICP function, with full responsibility for shaping strategy, winning work, and delivering projects across the UK.

    The Opportunity

This is a senior leadership role where you’ll be responsible for building and scaling an ICP (NERS) offering from an established platform. You’ll play a key role in driving growth, developing client relationships, and ensuring high-quality delivery across all projects.

    Key Responsibilities

    Business Growth & Strategy

    * Lead the development and expansion of the ICP / HV-LV connections business

    * Identify and secure new opportunities across utilities, infrastructure, and development sectors

    * Build and maintain relationships with DNOs, IDNOs, developers, and key clients

    * Drive long-term growth strategy and commercial performance

    Tendering & Commercial Delivery

    * Oversee bids and tenders, ensuring competitive and compliant submissions

    * Take ownership of project mobilisation and successful delivery

    * Manage budgets, programme performance, and commercial outcomes

    Operational Leadership

    * Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team

    * Oversee delivery of contestable works in line with industry standards

    * Manage engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors across multiple sites

    Compliance & Governance

    * Ensure full compliance with NERS and industry regulations

    * Support or work towards Assessing Officer responsibilities

    * Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence

    About You

    * Proven experience in ICP / utility connections (HV/LV, contestable works)

    * Strong understanding of NERS accreditation and DNO/IDNO environments

    * Track record of delivering projects and ideally contributing to business growth

    * Commercially aware with experience managing budgets and performance

    * Leadership experience with the ability to build and manage teams

    * HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or related discipline

    Why Apply?

    * Opportunity to build and lead a growing ICP business unit

    * Backed by an established and financially stable organisation

    * Strong pipeline of work and clear growth strategy

    * Real scope to shape the role and make a lasting impact

If you’re an experienced ICP professional ready to step into a leadership role—or already operating at this level and looking for a new challenge—this could be an excellent next move
