How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    I have proudly patterned with a progressive and vibrant building consultancy in Central London. We are looking for a talented commercially focused Senior Building Surveyor to join the practice. The opportunity offers a diverse workload with a hybrid working week of three days in the office and two working from home.
     
    We are looking for a confident forward-thinking professional to complement the group. You the successful Senior Building Surveyor will come from a proven commercial background and have experience in delivering accurate advice across the professional and project disciplines.
     
    The position has arisen due to an increase in workload, my client has a strong pipeline of work going well into 2026. You will be joining an approachable and sociable atmosphere; weekends aways, summer BBQs and networking events are all benefits attached to this opportunity.

    Running smaller capital projects from inception to completion from £50k to £1M with the ability and confidence to report directly to clients and develop the client relationship.
    Assisting directors and associated with larger scale projects from £1M to £10M+.
    Liaising with and managing an external multidisciplinary design team
    Preparation of specifications and a detailed understanding of various types of construction to assist our architectural team
    A robust understanding of the main JCT forms of contract, particularly D&B and a good knowledge of CA and EA roles.
    Building survey/ pre-acquisition survey experience of commercial and residential property.
    A working knowledge and experience of the Party Wall etc. Act 1996, preparing and serving, notices and awards under the Act;
    A working knowledge of Landlord and Tenant issues, the Dilapidation Protocol including preparing and serving schedules and settlement negotiations;
    Submission of statutory applications.

    BSc in Building Surveying
    MRICS qualified
