How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Working Days: Monday – Friday. Working flexibly between 7am and 7pm, based at home with 1 day a week in the office.

    Your Role

    An exciting opportunity to join West Yorkshire Police’s Information Management team has arisen.

    The primary function of this role is to process Data and Information sharing requests for various stakeholders on behalf of West Yorkshire Police and to ensure that West Yorkshire Police meet their obligations under current legislation.

    The main responsibility of the role is to deliver customer service focused around data and information sharing service. This includes responding to requests received, ensuring all requests are processed in line with current legislation and force policy and that local and national deadlines are consistently achieved.

    You will receive and record disclosure requests in a timely manner and you will act as a point of contact for initial queries, advice and guidance in relation to disclosure requests. This includes responding to internal and external bodies and members of the public. This work is transactional and you will be expected to meet office productivity targets.

    You will need:

    - Willingness to undertake and ability to successfully complete IT courses required for the role
    - Demonstrate research and analytical skills, using them to evaluate information as an aid to making an informed decision
    - A good standard of written and verbal communication
    - Ability and willingness to travel for business purposes
    - Ability and willingness to work flexibly in order to support the work of the department
