Are you in search of a temporary yet fulfilling role? Look no further! We're thrilled to offer an exciting position for our client based in Kingston who are looking to appoint a Planner for the 6 months ongoing, at the rate of £23.56 per hour umbrella

Job responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

Application Assessment: Process, evaluate, and make recommendations on planning applications, listed building consents, householder planning applications, prior approvals and lawful development certificates.
Negotiation & Site Visits: Conduct site visits and negotiate with developers to amend plans (where appropriate), ensuring high quality design and adherence to regulations.
Pre-application Advice: Provide professional advice to residents, agents, and developers regarding the feasibility of proposals.
Report Writing & Committee Attendance: Prepare detailed officer reports and present recommendations to the Planning Committee.
Planning Policy & Law: Ensure compliance with the Local Plan and National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF).
Appeals: Handle planning appeals (where appropriate) Key Skills & Requirements

Qualifications: A degree in Town Planning or related discipline
Technical Knowledge: Understanding of planning legislation and policies.
Communication: Strong negotiation skills, report writing abilities, and ability to handle confrontational situations.
Case Management: Ability to manage a high-volume, diverse caseload within strict statutory timelinesShould your skills match the above please send through your updated CV.
