Datatech Analytics is supporting a leading UK consulting and technology organisation delivering secure, enterprise-scale data platforms across defence, national security, and classified government programmes.

We're looking to engage Principal Data Architects who want real ownership, not just oversight, in environments where security, scale, and performance are critical.

The Role

This is a senior architecture role with genuine accountability.

You'll define and lead the technical direction of large-scale data platforms, working closely with senior stakeholders, engineers, and delivery teams across mission-critical programmes.

This isn't advisory. You'll stay close to delivery, shaping how platforms are built, deployed, and actually used.

What you'll be doing

• Owning enterprise data architecture across secure programmes
• Designing end-to-end platforms, ingestion through to analytics and operational use
• Building secure, scalable architectures for highly classified environments
• Translating complex mission requirements into deliverable solutions
• Leading engineering teams through implementation
• Influencing long-term architectural strategy and capability

Technology environment

You'll typically operate across:

• AWS, Azure, Google Cloud
• Databricks, Snowflake
• Lake, lakehouse, modern warehouse architectures
• Distributed processing frameworks
• DevOps, IaC, secure deployment patterns
• Data governance, access control, analytics enablement

What we're looking for

• Active DV clearance
• Track record delivering enterprise-scale data platforms
• Experience in defence, national security, or secure government
• Deep expertise in cloud data architecture and secure design
• Strong stakeholder engagement at senior level
• Experience leading teams across complex delivery
