How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Role

    The school is seeking a hard-working, enthusiastic, and dedicated Food Technology Teacher with a passion for the subject and the ability to engage and inspire students. You will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 to 5, ensuring that all students make excellent progress and develop a love for Food Technology.

    Key responsibilities include:

    Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
    Assessing, tracking, and recording pupil progress to inform teaching and support individual learning needs.
    Creating a stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity and independent thinking.
    Preparing students for GCSE examinations and supporting them in achieving their academic potential.
    Contributing to curriculum development and departmental initiatives within Technology.
    Participating in school events, trips, and enrichment activities that enhance students’ understanding of Food Technology and the wider world.
    Working collaboratively with colleagues and parents to promote positive attitudes to learning and achievement.This role is suitable for both Experienced Teachers and ECTs with full support and mentoring provided by the Head of Department and a strong subject team. You will join a friendly and collaborative department that strives to ensure all students enjoy learning and exceed expectations.
