Smart Managed Solutions is seeking a Building Performance Engineer to support energy optimisation, analytics and sustainability initiatives across its commercial portfolio.
The role focuses on analysing building and energy performance data, conducting audits, supporting BMS optimisation, and working with operational and client stakeholders to deliver measurable efficiency and carbon reduction outcomes.
What You'll Be Doing
Energy & Performance Analytics
Monitor and analyse energy, mechanical and building performance data to assess asset efficiency
Identify trends, opportunities and performance gaps, turning insights into actionable recommendations
Support the ongoing optimisation of buildings and continuously track performance improvements
Produce clear reports covering energy use, optimisation outcomes and asset performance
Help quantify efficiency opportunities and support energy and maintenance strategies across the portfolio
Troubleshooting & Technical Support
Manage and investigate energy‑related queries, including on‑site investigations where required
Support BMS interventions in collaboration with operational teams
Carry out energy audits and deep‑dive surveys to inform data‑led and analytics‑driven solutions
Provide technical guidance on metering, monitoring and data capture strategies
Troubleshoot complex performance or system issues and recommend appropriate actions
Stakeholder Engagement
Build strong working relationships with operational teams, senior leaders and client stakeholders
Communicate insights, recommendations and progress clearly and confidently
Support the deployment of analytics and performance solutions across the portfolio
Contribute to energy compliance activity, carbon reduction initiatives and Net Zero strategies
Help develop and refine Smart’s data‑led solutions based on technical insight and industry best practice
Desirable:
Experience with ISO 50001 or formal energy management systems
Knowledge of controls, VSDs, metering systems and SCADA environments
