How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    BBS Recruitment is an independent recruitment agency for the transport and logistics sector, supplying to a variety of clients across London, Hertfordshire and surrounding areas. We also recruit for Social Care and Public Sector roles.
    We are currently recruiting for an experienced Male Care Worker to join our client in a 1:1 care setting, providing dedicated support to an individual with advanced dementia, disabilities, and other complex needs. This role is based in Waltham Forest and surrounding areas.
    Job Role:
    You will be part of a 24-hour support service, delivering high-quality, person-centred care that promotes independence, dignity, and overall wellbeing.
    Your attention to detail, professionalism, and commitment to excellence will ensure that our services not only meet but consistently exceed expectations.
    Responsibilities of a Male Support Worker:
    * Assist clients with practical, daily living tasks to develop their independence, helping them to achieve the goals, aspirations and outcomes documented in their support plans
    * Provide dedicated support to individuals with autism, using person-centred approaches tailored to their specific needs
    * Manage and respond to challenging behaviour in a calm, safe and professional manner, using appropriate de-escalation techniques
    * Build trusting relationships with individuals with autism, promoting emotional wellbeing, stability and routine
    * Support individuals with daily living activities such as preparing meals, shopping and budgeting
    * Carry out risk assessments, particularly in relation to behaviours that may challenge, ensuring appropriate support strategies are in place
    * Assist in developing and reviewing support/care plans, specifically incorporating strategies for autism support and behaviour management
    * Monitor and record behavioural patterns, triggers and progress, reporting concerns or changes to the appropriate personnel
    * Always adhere to health and safety policies and procedures
    Working hours for Male Support worker: Monday to Sunday, Days- 07:00am – 19:00pm Nights 19:00pm – 07:00am
    Requirements of a Support Worker:
    * Enhanced DBS
    * Previous experience in a similar role preferred
    * Proven experience supporting individuals with autism and dealing with challenging behaviour
    * Strong attention to detail and a high level of professionalism
    * Excellent time management and organisational skills
    * Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment
    * Good communication skills, both verbal and written
    * Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends
