How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Recently Moved to the UK? Start Teaching with Confidence

If you’ve recently relocated to the UK from countries such as the UAE, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, or South Africa and are looking to continue your teaching career, this opportunity is designed for you.

TailorEDucation specialises in supporting overseas-trained teachers as they transition into UK schools. Whether you’re looking to gain UK classroom experience, understand the curriculum, or find flexible work while settling in, supply teaching is an excellent way to get started.

About the Role and Key Responsibilities

As a Supply Teacher, you will deliver pre-planned lessons, manage classroom behaviour, and ensure pupils remain engaged and supported in their learning.

    This role allows you to:
    • Gain valuable UK teaching experience
    • Explore different schools and settings
    • Build confidence in the UK curriculum and expectations
    • Work flexibly around your availability

    About the Schools

We work with a wide range of welcoming and supportive primary, secondary and SEND schools across Kent and Medway. Many of our partner schools have experience working with international teachers and provide inclusive environments to help you settle into the UK education system.

    Who We’re Looking For

We are actively seeking teachers who have trained or worked overseas and are now based in the UK.

    You should have:
    • A recognised teaching qualification (QTS or overseas equivalent)
    • Teaching experience gained internationally (UK experience not required)
    • Strong classroom management and adaptability
    • A willingness to learn UK safeguarding and school practices
    • A genuine passion for teaching and supporting pupils

    Support Tailored for Overseas Teachers

We understand that teaching in the UK can differ from other countries — and that’s why we’re here to help.

    You’ll receive:
    • Guidance on UK classroom expectations and behaviour management
    • Support with safeguarding and compliance requirements
    • Advice on adapting your teaching style to the UK curriculum
    • Access to 50+ CPD courses to support your transition

    Why Join TailorEDucation?

We provide more than just work — we support your transition into teaching in the UK.

    Key benefits include:
    • Competitive daily pay rates
    • Flexible working to suit your lifestyle
    • Free CPD training and development opportunities
    • A dedicated consultant who understands overseas teacher journeys
    • Opportunities in a variety of school settings

    How to Apply

If you’re an overseas-trained teacher now living in the UK, we’d love to hear from you.

Submit your CV along with a short cover note outlining your teaching experience and current availability.

A member of our team will guide you through the registration process.

If you’re unsure where to start in the UK education system, apply anyway — we’re here to help you find the right fit
