How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Senior Quantity Surveyor – Social Housing & Refurbishment
    📍 London and South East (Projects across region)
    💰 Up to £60,000 – £85,000 + Package

    We are a well-established and growing construction company specialising in social housing regeneration, refurbishment, and education projects, delivering high-quality schemes that positively impact communities.

    Due to continued success and a strong pipeline of work, we are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team and play a key role in the successful delivery of our projects.

    The Role

    As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of projects from pre-construction through to final account.

    You will:

    * Take commercial responsibility for refurbishment and regeneration projects

    * Manage project costs, budgets, and financial reporting

    * Prepare valuations, variations, and final accounts

    * Procure and manage subcontractor packages

    * Administer contracts (JCT/NEC) effectively

    * Identify risks and opportunities to maximise project value

    * Work closely with site and operations teams to ensure smooth delivery

    * Support and mentor junior Quantity Surveyors where required

    What We’re Looking For

    * Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor (or strong QS ready to step up)

    * Background in social housing refurbishment, regeneration, or education projects

    * Strong knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts

    * Excellent commercial and financial management skills

    * Strong negotiation and communication abilities

    * A proactive and detail-oriented approach
