How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    CCTV Service & Maintenance Engineer Location: West Midlands (UK-wide travel)
    Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 + Overtime + Paid Travel Time
    Job Type: Full-time | Permanent | Monday–Friday

    The Role You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and fault-finding on CCTV and door access systems at customer sites across the UK.
    This is a field-based position and will involve travel, with occasional overnight stays (accommodation and subsistence provided).

    Key Responsibilities
    Service, maintenance and fault-finding on CCTV systems
    Working on access control and door entry systems
    Diagnosing and repairing equipment faults
    Completing service sheets and job reports
    Providing professional customer service on site
    Working to health & safety procedures and RAMS
    Supporting installations when required
    Organising materials and ensuring jobs are completed to a high standard Working Hours
    40 hours per week
    Monday to Friday (typically 8am–5pm)
    Paid travel time
    Paid overtime
    No weekend work
    No 24-hour call-outs

    Requirements Essential
    3–5 years’ experience working on CCTV systems
    Experience with access control / door entry systems
    Fault finding and diagnostics ability
    Full UK driving licence (held 2+ years)
    Comfortable working at height
    Basic IT skills
    Willing to undertake a DBS check
    Strong communication and customer service skills

    Desirable
    Previous field service engineer experience
    Security or fire & security industry background
