Plan and deliver engaging and age-appropriate lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum
Create a supportive and structured classroom environment that promotes positive behaviour and learning routines
Assess and monitor pupil progress, adapting teaching to meet the needs of all learners
Support pupils’ personal, social, and emotional development during this key transition year
Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, and parents to support pupil outcomes
Maintain accurate records and contribute to planning and moderation activities
Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all timesIdeal Year 1 Teacher:
Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, particularly Year 1
Strong understanding of early phonics, literacy, and numeracy development
Ability to create engaging lessons that motivate young learners
Confident classroom management and a nurturing teaching approach
