An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Civil Technician to join a well-established engineering consultancy delivering complex infrastructure projects across the UK and Europe. This role sits within a specialist division focused on mission critical facilities, including large-scale data centre developments and associated infrastructure.

The organisation is a globally recognised engineering business with a strong reputation in delivering high value, technically complex projects. In the UK, they have built a solid presence across major infrastructure programmes and are continuing to expand their footprint within the data centre and mission critical sector, supporting clients on some of the most demanding and fast-paced developments in the market.

The role will be based from the London office with a hybrid working arrangement and will form part of a multidisciplinary project team delivering civil design solutions across a range of projects.

The Role

You will be responsible for producing high-quality civil engineering drawings and models, primarily using Autodesk Civil 3D, while supporting engineers and project managers to deliver accurate and efficient design outputs.

Key responsibilities include:

* Producing detailed civil engineering drawings and designs using Civil 3D

* Developing 3D models including terrain modelling, grading and earthworks calculations

* Supporting the design of site layouts, drainage, roads, stormwater systems and utilities

* Coordinating with engineers to produce plans, profiles and technical drawings

* Leading drawing production on more complex assignments

* Carrying out quality checks to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards

* Managing drawing revisions and maintaining organised project documentation

* Supporting project delivery in line with programme, budget and design requirements

* Mentoring junior technicians where required

Requirements

* Minimum 7 years’ experience in a civil design or technician role

* Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D

* Experience delivering civil designs for infrastructure or development projects

* Good understanding of drainage, utilities, roads and site development

* Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team environment

* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

* Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with stakeholders

Desirable

* Experience within data centre or mission critical environments

* Exposure to additional software such as Navisworks, Revit, MicroStation or GIS
