How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

About the Client Frankie is 9 years old and lives at home with Mum, Dad, and his two younger sisters. Frankie is a real character; he is an engaging, sociable, happy, and determined chap who strives for his independence. He leads a busy life and has a long list of hobbies and interests. He loves playing games, story time, listening to music, watching the footie with Dad, going for walks, spending time with his friends…the list goes on, and on! Frankie has epilepsy and quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy, which affects his cognitive and physical abilities. He uses Eye Gaze Technology and PECs to support his communication. He is a wheelchair user and receives his fluid, nutrition (blended diet), and medication via a mini button PEG. Recently, Frankie underwent surgery for an ITB Pump to help with his muscle spasms/dystonia; this has already made a huge improvement. He is supported on a 2:1 basis by his dedicated care team, providing around the clock support.
The Role at a Glance The shift starts with a full handover from your colleague regarding Frankie’s day. Typically, when you arrive Frankie will be settled in bed. This is an active waking night shift with an established routine in place which includes administering medication and PEG management, completing nightly logs and paperwork. Frankie’s sleep is unpredictable, there will be nights when he needs to you by bedside, on other nights, he may only wake for a short period of time. If settled there is a portable video-audio monitor so that you can get on with completing other duties Frankie’s laundry, washing syringes or replenishing stock etc. The sleeping night carer is present on each shift to provide additional support if needed. Their role is primarily to assist in emergencies or during very occasional situations where extra help is required, such as personal care, administering medication or repositioning. Additional night shifts are also available at weekends for those who wish to take them on; however, these are optional. If Frankie requires sustained or prolonged support during the night, the sleeping night carer’s role will be converted to a waking/on-call night rate for the duration of that support.
This Job Would Suit A compassionate and dedicated Waking Night Carer with excellent communication skills. Previous experience with manual handling is essential. You must have a true passion for supporting young people to reach their full potential.
Why You’ll Love This Role Supporting Frankie and having the opportunity to work with him is of course the best part of this role, however, his parents and MDT are extremely supportive and invest in Frankie’s care team to continually upskill and provide excellent training opportunities. An opportunity not to be missed! Apply today to join Team Frankie!
