How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Supply Chain Manager

    A leading importer and processor of ingredients and raw materials is seeking a dedicated Supply Chain Manager to lead their logistics and customer service operations. This role is vital in ensuring that high-quality ingredients meet the exact specifications of UK manufacturers and wholesalers.

    Role Overview

    Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, you will lead a distributed team across two sites (Cambridgeshire and Liverpool) to oversee the end-to-end supply chain process. We are looking for a strategic leader who embodies a "Can Do" attitude, stays proactive, and prioritizes a collaborative "We Before I" team culture.

    Key Details:

    Location: Based in Fulbourn, Cambridgeshire.

    Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 5:30 pm.

    Team Size: Management of a small team of 5 across two locations.

    Core Responsibilities

    Team Leadership: Managing and developing the supply chain team to ensure operational excellence.

    Customer Service & Commercial Alignment: Partnering with the commercial team to understand and meet customer requirements.

    Operational Planning: Aligning production plans with customer needs and managing service levels.

    Logistics Management: Overseeing shipping, transport, and relationships with 3rd party warehousing and distribution providers.

    Inventory & Procurement: Managing inventory accuracy, forecasting, and the ordering of 3rd party products.

    Process Improvement: Driving accuracy and efficiency in systems and processes, including active collaboration in the S&OP process.

    Qualifications & Experience

    Experience: Proven supply chain management experience, ideally within a food manufacturing environment.

    Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage, prioritize, and develop a team across multiple locations.

    Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with ERP systems (experience with JDE is preferred).

    Logistics Expertise: Solid background in working with 3rd party logistics (3PL) and warehousing.

    Communication: Exceptional communication skills to facilitate inter-departmental collaboration.
