How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Electrical Installation Supervisor (Near Reading)

    I am looking for experienced Electrical Installation Supervisors to join a high-performing engineering team delivering cutting-edge control systems.

    The Role

    This is a hands-on, site-based role for a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

    You’ll take ownership of projects from survey through to installation, commissioning, and support — ensuring everything is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

    * Lead and supervise electrical installations on client sites

    * Survey, install, commission, and support control systems

    * Work predominantly on electrical systems with some exposure to PLCs (training provided)

    * Ensure projects are delivered on time and to spec

    This role involves UK travel (typically within 3 hours). Some overnight stays are required (~20%), with accommodation provided where needed.

    Hours: Full-time, 45 hours per week (Monday–Friday)

    What We’re Looking For

    * Minimum 2 years’ electrical supervisory experience

    * Relevant electrical qualifications (C&G, NVQ Level 3, ONC/HNC/HND)

    * 18th Edition (BS7671) essential

    * ECS Gold Card (or able to obtain)

    * SSSTS/SMSTS (desirable)

    * Background in installation, maintenance, or service environments

    * Experience with control panels, commissioning, or PLCs (advantageous)

    * Knowledge of EPlan, AutoCAD or similar (beneficial)

    * Strong communication skills

    * Full UK driving licence

    * Right to work in the UK

    What You’ll Get

    * 25 days holiday (rising to 30 with service)

    * Pension scheme with salary sacrifice option

    * Private healthcare (after 1 year)

    * Life assurance (after 5 years)

    * Ongoing training and development

    * Annual salary and performance reviews

    * Company van/pool car access (car scheme for senior roles)

    * Overtime, TIL, and expenses paid

    * Employee perks platform (discounts on retail, travel, entertainment)

    * Wellbeing support, including 24/7 confidential counselling

    * Regular social events and team activities

    Why Join?

    You’ll be part of a forward-thinking engineering team delivering complex automation and control solutions across a range of industries. The focus is on quality, innovation, and developing people — giving you the tools and support to progress your career
