Platinum Recruitment is working in partnership with a very lively, popular, family owned restaurant who are looking for an experienced Head Chef to join their team at their beach side restaurant in sunny Jersey

Why choose our Client?

This privately owned is having something of a renaissance in that they are taking their already very popular operation and upping the ante to take it to the next level whilst still remaining true to their casual dining roots. If you think high end casual dining you wont be far off what they are looking to achieve.

To get there they are enlisting the services of an ex Great British Menu Executive Chef who will oversee the operation in terms of initial menu development and presentation with a view to the incoming Head Chef taking more of a front seat in due course.

This will be an ingredient led menu showcasing British produce and that of the Channel Islands while maintaining the highest standards and culture.

There is a brigade of up to 10 in the busier months reducing to around 6 in winter many of whom have been on board for more than a short time.

There is a very generous and achievable bonus scheme

Salary/Package - £60,000 + Bonus

What's involved?
As Head Chef you will be the link between that Executive Chef and the rest of the team and you will have an increasing input into menu creation. The Head Chef will be used to a busy service and with the restaurant serving up to 500 covers a day you need to be able to operate at a fast pace while maintain the higher levels of presentation and flavours that the client is looking for.

As Head Chef you will be a calm influence in the kitchen without letting attention to detail or standards slip

As Head Chef you will be a great communicator and mentor and be able to lift the team when things get busy. You will have a firm hold on GP and ensure the 5 star Hygiene Rating is maintained.

Most of all, like any good Head Chef you will lead by example and be someone the kitchen team can go to.

The accommodation is not on site and a driving licence and car is essential for anyone thinking of applying. While the restaurant is in an enviable position it isn't convenient for public transport.
