How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Technical Documentation Engineer
    Hybrid - 2 days onsite per week

    Are you confident turning complex engineering detail into clear, structured documentation?
    Do you enjoy working in regulated environments where accuracy really matters?
    Looking for a role where your work directly supports safe and compliant operations?

    What's in it for you
    £45 per hour (inside IR35)
    Hybrid working - 2 days onsite per week

    What will you be doing?
    • Produce clear, accurate technical documentation covering operations, plant and procedures
    • Develop method statements, risk assessments, ITPs, lift plans and maintenance instructions
    • Create and manage change control and system documentation
    • Review and proof-read documents such as FAT, SAT and requirements specifications
    • Carry out site visits, inspections and walkdowns with internal teams and client representatives
    • Structure documentation logically, including diagrams and supporting illustrations
    • Ensure all documentation meets compliance, quality and regulatory standards
    • Manage document control, including indexing, storage and retrieval
    • Support project teams, suppliers and clients with technical documentation queries
    • Contribute to project planning activities, including P6 schedules
    • Identify and report risks, delays and scope changes

    Where you'll be doing it
    You'll be joining an engineering-led environment delivering work within a highly regulated sector. The business focuses on safe, compliant and technically robust project delivery, working closely with clients and stakeholders across complex engineering programmes.

    What you'll need
    • Engineering background (Electrical, Mechanical, Control Systems or similar)
    • Experience producing technical documentation in regulated or safety-critical environments
    • Strong understanding of risk assessments, method statements and engineering procedures
    • Ability to translate complex technical information into clear documentation
    • High attention to detail with a structured approach
    • Confident working with engineers, project teams and clients
    Desirable
    • Experience in nuclear or similar highly regulated industries
    • Familiarity with engineering standards and compliance processes
    • Experience supporting project planning or Primavera P6
