How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

The school benefits from a stable and friendly staff team, where collaboration, wellbeing, and professional growth are prioritised. This positive culture has been recognised externally, with the school achieving an 'Outstanding' rating in its most recent Ofsted inspection.

Safeguarding and the welfare of children are central to the school's values, and all staff are expected to uphold these principles.

The school is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspiring teacher on a fixed-term basis of two years, linked to planned developments within the staffing structure.

There is flexibility around the year group, with opportunities available in Reception, Year 1, or Year 2, depending on the successful candidate's strengths and experience.

Working collaboratively with parallel class teachers and a skilled support team, the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering engaging lessons and ensuring pupils achieve strong progress in line with age-related expectations.

    What's on Offer

A well-resourced and welcoming working environment
Dedicated PPA time within year teams, supported by allocated workspace
Access to modern technology, including iPads and laptops
A structured and supportive induction programme for ECTs
Ongoing mentoring and high-quality professional development opportunities
Clear pathways for career progression and leadership development
Access to staff health and wellbeing support
Opportunities to collaborate with colleagues and partner schoolsAbout You

This role is ideally suited to teachers/ ECT's in the early stages of their career who are eager to develop their practice in a supportive setting.

The school is seeking a reflective and creative practitioner with high expectations for pupil achievement, a collaborative mindset, and a genuine commitment to making a positive impact on young learners.

If you are looking for a role where you can grow professionally while contributing to a dynamic and successful St. Albans school community, we would be keen to hear from you. #Education and Training #Education and Training #Education and Training #ECT #ECT #St. Albans #St. Albans
