How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Maths Lead Teacher (SEN) | Barnet, London | September 2026 Start

    Start Date: 01/09/2026
    Contract: Full Time, Temporary
    Salary: £41,935 – £56,154 per annum (M3–U3)
    Salary will be determined based on experience and position on the Main Pay Range. The maximum salary is applicable to candidates with substantial teaching experience equivalent to U3.

    This is a unique opportunity to lead a functional, real-world maths curriculum and inspire learners to develop confidence, independence, and essential life skills. You will take ownership of Maths across Key Stages 3–5, shaping a curriculum that is accessible, engaging, and tailored to meet the diverse needs of learners in a specialist SEND setting.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead and develop the Maths curriculum across KS3–KS5
    • Deliver engaging, practical maths lessons with a focus on functional numeracy
    • Support students in achieving Entry Level and Functional Skills qualifications
    • Adapt teaching strategies to meet a wide range of SEND needs
    • Use sensory, visual, and scaffolded approaches to support learning
    • Coach and mentor colleagues to enhance teaching and learning across the school
    • Work collaboratively with leadership, families, and external professionals

    What We’re Looking For

    • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
    • Experienced Maths teacher (M3–U3) with strong subject knowledge
    • Proven experience working within SEND or specialist settings - essential
    • Deep understanding of autism, learning disabilities, and complex needs
    • Knowledge of EHCPs, person-centred planning, and SEND frameworks
    • Experience with approaches such as SCERTS, sensory strategies, and regulation techniques
    • A reflective, resilient, and compassionate practitioner with leadership potential
