Salary: £41,935 - £56,154 per annum (M3 – U3)
Salary will be determined based on experience and position on the Main Pay Range. The maximum salary is applicable to candidates with substantial teaching experience equivalent to U3.
About the Role
Teach Now is recruiting an experienced SEN Teacher to take on a Preparation for Adulthood Lead role within a specialist school in Barnet.
This middle leadership position focuses on preparing students aged 11–19 with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs for life beyond school. You will lead on employment pathways, independent living skills, and transition planning, while delivering a person-centred curriculum.
You will also oversee work experience programmes, build employer partnerships, and work closely with external agencies including colleges and social care services. A dedicated leadership day each week allows time for strategy, staff support, and curriculum development.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead the Preparation for Adulthood strategy across the school
• Teach and support students across KS3–KS5 with SEND
• Develop work experience opportunities and employer links
• Coordinate post-16 and post-19 transitions
• Embed life skills such as travel training and budgeting
• Support staff in delivering SEND and life skills provision
Requirements
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience teaching in a SEN setting
• Experience across secondary key stages
• Strong understanding of autism, learning disabilities, and complex needs
• Eligibility to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship)
• Enhanced DBS required
