How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Geography Teacher – Secondary (KS3–KS5)

    Location: Gravesham, Kent (Greater London Area)
    Start Date: 20 April 2026
    Salary: £37,870 – £56,154 per annum
    Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
    Salary will be determined based on experience and position on the Main Pay Range. The
    maximum salary is applicable to candidates with substantial teaching experience equivalent to U3.

    About the Role

    Teach Now is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Geography Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Gravesham on a permanent, full-time basis.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to deliver engaging and high-quality Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 to 5, inspiring students to develop a deep understanding of the world around them.

    The role would suit both experienced teachers and ambitious ECTs looking to grow within a supportive and forward-thinking department.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Plan and deliver engaging Geography lessons across KS3, KS4 and KS5
    • Inspire curiosity about physical and human geography
    • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations
    • Differentiate lessons to meet a range of abilities and learning needs
    • Monitor, assess, and report on student progress
    • Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities
    • Work collaboratively with colleagues and the wider school community

    About You
    • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
    • Degree in Geography or a related subject
    • Experience teaching Geography at secondary level (including KS4; KS5 desirable)
    • Strong subject knowledge and passion for Geography
    • Ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities
    • Excellent classroom management skills
    • Committed to high standards of teaching and learning
