How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Maintenance Engineer – Night Shift Salary: Up to £50,000 Location: Slough Shift: 4 on / 4 off | 6am–6pm or 7am–7pm (42 hours per week) Sector: Food Manufacturing / FMCG

    The Opportunity

    We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established food manufacturing business in Slough. Due to continued operational demand, they are looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their night shift team on a permanent basis.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for a multi-skilled engineer who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and wants the stability of a long-term role with a reputable employer.

    The Role

    * Carrying out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the site

    * Minimising downtime by diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical faults efficiently

    * Supporting continuous improvement initiatives on site

    * Working closely with production teams to ensure maximum plant availability

    * Completing accurate maintenance records and documentation

    The Candidate

    * Multi-skilled maintenance engineer with mechanical and electrical experience

    * Background in food manufacturing, FMCG, or a similar fast-paced production environment

    * Electrical bias is advantageous

    * PLC experience desirable — Siemens an advantage

    * Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability

    * Comfortable working a 4 on / 4 off night shift pattern

    * Reliable, self-motivated, and safety conscious
