How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Shift Pattern: Continental (Days & Nights) – 06:00–18:00 / 18:00-06:00

    My client is a reputable FM company who are recruiting a Deputy Shift Leader in their critical division, to work on a prestigious contract in Canary Wharf, managing critical building systems and supporting the day to day leadership of the engineering shift team

    This is an excellent opportunity for a strong, technically capable engineer/lead ready to step into a deputy leadership role on a high-profile critical site as a 2nd in command.

    The Role

    As Deputy Shift Leader, you will:

    * Act as the senior engineer on shift under the lead, supporting leadership for day-to-day technical operations

    * Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across M&E and critical systems

    * Take ownership of mechanical/electrical systems including LV/HV distribution, plant, and associated infrastructure

    * Supervise contractors and ensure all works are completed safely and compliantly

    * Respond to faults, incidents, and alarms within a critical environment

    * Maintain accurate records using site systems and permits to work

    About You

    We are looking for candidates who:

    * Hold electrical or mechanical qualifications (Level 3 ideally)

    * Have solid experience working within commercial building services

    * Are confident fault-finding across electrical and wider M&E systems

    * Can lead by example on shift and take responsibility for site operations

    * Are professional, reliable, and safety-focused

    High Voltage experience is not essential — HV training will be provided after 3 months.

    What’s on Offer

    * Salary up to £57,000

    * Significant overtime available

    * 20 shifts holiday

    * Fully funded HVAP training and development

    * Stable, well-run contract managed by a major FM provider

    * Career progression within the technical business structure

    Why this company?

    My client consistently delivers high-quality engineering services across landmark commercial and critical buildings across the UK & Europe. You’ll be joining a business that invests in its engineers, values technical excellence, and offers long-term career security.
