Job Description

People Dynamix Education are currently recruiting a friendly and reliable School Catering Assistant to join a busy school catering team in the Wirral area on a term-time maternity cover basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to contribute to providing a positive lunchtime experience for students and staff.

Main Purpose of the Role

To support the smooth and efficient running of the school's catering operations, assisting with food preparation, serving meals, cleaning duties, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety within the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation including sandwiches, desserts, and hot meals

Set up the dining hall for lunchtime service

Serve food in a polite, friendly, and efficient manner

Clean kitchen areas, service counters, equipment, and utensils

Maintain hygiene standards in line with food safety regulations

Provide a friendly and supportive service to students and staff

Report any hygiene or health concerns in line with procedures

Requirements

Previous experience in a catering or kitchen assistant role (school experience desirable)

Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate or willingness to obtain

Strong teamwork and communication skills

Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
