Acting as a central point of contact for payroll queries, you will help maintain strong controls and efficient processes, while working closely with the Payroll Manager to ensure smooth, compliant payroll delivery.
Key Responsibilities for a Payroll Supervisor:
* Oversee end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to deadlines
* Supervise and support payroll team members, improving performance and resolving queries
* Ensure full compliance with HMRC regulations, including PAYE, NIC, RTI submissions, and statutory reporting
* Manage payroll reporting, including P32, P45, P60, and year-end processes
* Maintain and reconcile workplace pension schemes in line with auto-enrolment requirements
* Act as the first point of contact for payroll queries, escalating complex issues where needed
* Ensure accurate maintenance of employee payroll records, including starters, leavers, and deductions
* Monitor and manage payroll-related debts and recovery processes
* Oversee time and attendance data to ensure accurate pay calculations
* Support audits and maintain payroll documentation in line with compliance standards
Key Skills for a Payroll Supervisor:
* Strong end-to-end payroll processing expertise
* Solid knowledge of UK payroll legislation and compliance
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Experience supporting or guiding payroll team members
* Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines
* Proficiency in payroll systems (e.g. Sage 50 Payroll) and strong Excel/reporting skills
