The role forms part of the Management team and reports to the Site Manager.
This is a shift-based opportunity on a 4 week rota across a 24/7 pattern of days and nights.
The key day to day activities for the role include:
* Organise the resource in your department appropriately against the demands of the business.
* Manage and develop employees through technical coaching, behavioural guidance, leadership and empowerment.
* Work closely with the Production Planning team to ensure that Customer Orders are produced
* Leading by example to ensure that site standards for EHS, Quality & GMP are Maintained at all times.
* Report equipment failures / Issues to ensure they are fit for purpose and don’t present a risk
* Contribute and lead CI activities & use problem solving processes to resolve issues in all factory areas.
* Provides support to other Shift teams during planned Manager holidays and absence.
The position involves daily collaboration with the other Shift team, Quality, Engineering and HR so excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential. Previous experience managing a production operation on shift is also essential, ideally gained in a high volume manufacturing or continuous process environment.
Experience of driving a culture of Continuous Improvement (Lean, Six Sigma, WCM, 5S) in a manufacturing setting is also key to this role as would a formal H&S qualification (IOSH)
