Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Primary Phase
Location: Southampton
Hours: 08:30 – 15:30, Full-Time
Pay: £90 – £110 per day
Start Date: ASAP- July 2026 (with the possibility to go permanent for the right candidate)

Are you a qualified and confident HLTA ready to lead learning across the primary phase?
Supply Desk is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant for a full-time role in a energetic Ofsted “Good” rated school in Southampton.

This role is open only to qualified HLTAs who have the strength and experience to deliver whole-class teaching, lead small group sessions, and run targeted interventions. You’ll play a key role in maintaining high standards of learning and behaviour across the school, with the support of Learning Support Assistants (LSAs).

About the Role:

Provide whole-class cover during teacher absences, using pre-prepared lesson plans
Work across all primary year groups as required
Lead interventions and small group support for targeted pupils
Collaborate with LSAs to ensure every pupil is engaged and supported
Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment
Opportunity for a permanent contract for the right candidate

We're Looking For Someone Who:

✔️ Holds HLTA status or a Level 3 qualification equivalent
✔️ Has proven experience delivering whole-class lessons
✔️ Demonstrates strong classroom and behaviour management
✔️ Is confident working across the primary age range
✔️ Is proactive, flexible, and a team player
✔️ Is passionate about making a real impact in children’s education
