Pay Rate: GBP25 per hour (starting rate)
Job Type: Temporary | Part-Time | 20 hours per week (ASAP start)
We are seeking a committed SEMH Tutor to support students in Oldham, helping them overcome learning challenges associated with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will provide one-to-one tutoring in Maths and English, tailored to meet the individual learning profiles of students who may be working below expected levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver one-to-one GCSE Maths and English lessons, adapting content to meet the specific needs of SEMH students.
Adjust teaching methods and pace to help students regulate emotions and engage with learning.
Foster a positive, supportive relationship with students, creating a safe and effective learning environment.
Support students in building subject knowledge, improving study skills, and preparing for exams.
Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback to parents, carers, or professionals when necessary.
Essential Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year of experience teaching or tutoring Maths or English.
Experience working with SEMH students in a one-to-one or small group setting.
Right to work in the UK.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undertake one).
Desirable Qualifications:
PGCE in Secondary Education and/or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Experience with students who have Autism, ADHD, or SEMH needs.
