How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Operations Director - Building Surveying (London & South East)
    Competitive Salary + Excellent Package
    London-based | Leadership Opportunity

I'm currently partnering with a highly respected, forward-thinking consultancy to appoint an Operations Director to lead their Building Surveying function across London and the South East. This is a standout leadership opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to shape, grow and influence a high-performing team within a dynamic and expanding business.

This organisation has built an outstanding reputation for delivering complex, large-scale programmes across both public and private sectors. With a strong pipeline of work and a clear growth strategy, they are now seeking a senior leader to play a pivotal role in driving their Building Surveying offering to the next level.

    The Opportunity

You will take full responsibility for a well-established team of circa 12 professionals, while also sitting on the national leadership team, contributing to strategic growth and direction across the wider business.
This is more than a management role - it's a chance to:

Shape and expand a key service line nationally
Lead high-profile, multi-sector programmes of significant scale
Influence business strategy and client development at a senior level
Build and mentor a high-performing, motivated team

    Key Responsibilities

Lead, inspire and develop the Building Surveying team across the region
Drive business growth through client engagement, work winning and service excellence
Oversee delivery of major programmes including surveys, refurbishment, maintenance and project work
Take ownership of commercial performance, resource planning and operational delivery
Play a key role in national strategy and business planning
Maintain and build strong client relationships at senior level

    About You

You will be an experienced leader within Building Surveying, with a strong consultancy background and a proven ability to both win and deliver work.

Degree qualified in Building Surveying (or equivalent)
    MRICS (or equivalent professional membership)
Significant post-qualification experience (typically 10+ years)
Demonstrable success leading and growing teams
Strong commercial acumen and track record in winning work
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Deep technical expertise across core Building Surveying services

    Why This Role?

Genuine leadership position with strategic influence
Opportunity to shape and grow a regional business unit
Exposure to major, high-value programmes across diverse sectors
Clear progression and long-term career trajectory
    Competitive salary and comprehensive package
If you're ready to step into a high-impact leadership role and play a key part in a growing, ambitious consultancy, I'd be keen to discuss this opportunity with you in confidence. Get in touch with Andreea Hudson at Aldwych Consulting for more details.
