How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    The Role

In this role you will take the lead on developing and enhancing supplier management capabilities, working closely with senior stakeholders across a complex public sector environment. It's a chance to shape how supplier relationships are managed, influence strategic decisions, and deliver visible outcomes at pace.

    Key Details

    Position: Supplier Management Development Lead
Contract Length: 184 billable days (6 months)
    IR35: In scope
    Rate: (Apply online only) /day
    Location: Whittington or Andover
Working pattern: Around 3 days per week on site (with some flexibility, e.g. 2 days in some weeks) plus occasional travel to other sites
Must be eligible for or have active SC

    What You Will Be Doing

Driving the development and improvement of supplier relationship management processes and frameworks.
Engaging proactively with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior decision-makers.
Working with incomplete or high-level information, identifying what's missing, and then sourcing, collating, and presenting it in a clear, actionable way.
Presenting findings, recommendations, and outcomes confidently to senior stakeholders.
Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement in supplier management.

    What They Are Looking For

Proven experience in a similar role with clear, demonstrable outcomes in supplier or SRM development.
Strong stakeholder management and engagement skills, with a proactive approach.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver at pace.
Comfort working with limited information and turning ambiguity into structured, presentable insight.
Confidence in presenting to senior stakeholders.
Good working knowledge of MS Office, Excel and SharePoint.
MCIPS (or equivalent experience) is highly desirable - Level 4 CIPS with a supporting track record is also suitable.
Previous SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) experience.

    Desirable Experience

    Power BI reporting exposure.
    Background in the public sector.

    Fit & Mindset

The client is not looking for someone who only follows existing processes. They want someone who is:

    Flexible, inquisitive and solution-focused.
Confident in challenging the status quo and helping to build and evolve approaches.
Comfortable operating in a changing, sometimes ambiguous environment.

Why This Could Appeal to You

Direct impact in a nationally important organisation within the public sector supply chain space.
Opportunity to shape and improve supplier management practices rather than simply maintain them.
Remote-friendly structure combined with meaningful on-site stakeholder engagement
    Salary description

    £560.00 - £590.00 per day
