How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Teaching Assistant – SEN (Permanent, Full-Time, Immediate Start)

    The Opportunity

    This setting supports pupils aged 4 to 18 with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties, communication needs and behaviours that may challenge. The school prides itself on creating a nurturing, structured environment where every pupil is supported to achieve a fulfilling and independent future.

    Role & Responsibilities

    Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups with learning and development
    Assist in delivering tailored literacy, numeracy and life skills activities
    Promote engagement, independence and positive behaviour
    Provide personal care and physical support where required
    Help maintain a safe, organised and stimulating learning environment
    Work closely with teachers and contribute to individual learning targets
    Support less experienced staff and contribute to a strong team culture

    Working Hours & Contract

    Full-time, permanent role – employed directly by the school
    Immediate start available
    Hours: 8.40am to 4.30pm
    Term-time role with ongoing professional development opportunities

    What We’re Looking For

    Minimum 6 months childcare experience (essential)
    Experience supporting children with SEN
    GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
    Patient, resilient and adaptable approach
    Strong communication and teamwork skills
    This is a truly rewarding role where you will support pupils with complex learning, physical and behavioural needs, helping them build confidence, independence and essential life skills in a caring and supportive environment.

    All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
