Salary: £40,000+ (depending on experience)
Abatec are recruiting on behalf of a well-established supplier of construction equipment and material handling machinery, supporting customers across the construction, waste, and articultural sectors. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Mobile Fitter / Yardman to join their team based at their Avonmouth depot.
This is primarily a workshop-based role, with occasional local field service work using a company van. The role would suit someone with mechanical or plant maintenance experience who enjoys working with heavy machinery in a varied and hands-on position.
Hours and Rates of pay
* Monday to Friday 7:00am – 6:00pm
* From 40K per hour DOE
* Based at the Avonmouth HQ
* Own transport required
Key Responsibilities
* Washing and preparing machines
* General yard duties
* Operating a forklift (training can be provided)
* Carrying out servicing and routine maintenance
* Machine repairs and fault finding
* Investigate equipment issues
* Carrying out engine, transmission, and hydraulic repairs
* Occasional local field service work
About you
* Experience in plant, construction equipment, agricultural machinery, or HGV mechanics
* Strong mechanical fault-finding skills
* Comfortable using diagnostic software and laptops
* Knowledge of hydraulic systems, engines, and transmissions
* Forklift experience beneficial (training available)
* Reliable and able to work independently and as part of a team
