How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    SEN Tutor - Croydon | Qualified Tutor | Immediate Start

    We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced SEN Tutor to support young learners in the Croydon area. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the academic and emotional development of students with Special Educational Needs.

    Location: Croydon
    Start date: Immediate
    Hours: Flexible - part-time or full-time opportunities available
    Pay: £25-£35 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

    About the Role:
    The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering tailored 1:1 tuition to students who may be out of school, on reduced timetables, or require additional support due to a range of SEN, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and other complex needs. Sessions may take place in the student's home or a suitable community setting.

    Responsibilities:

    Plan and deliver engaging lessons in core subjects

    Adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of each learner

    Build positive, trusting relationships with students and their families

    Support student's emotional development, confidence and readiness to learn

    Monitor and report on student progress

    Requirements:

    A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, QTLS, PGCE or equivalent)

    Proven experience working with children or young people with SEN

    Ability to work independently and manage own schedule

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)

    Desirable:

    Experience supporting students excluded from mainstream education

    Training in behaviour management strategies (e.g. Team Teach, MAPA)

    Strong understanding of EHCPs and SEN-related support frameworks
