How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Site Manager – Fit Out & Refurbishment (UK Wide Travel)

    Location: Birmingham (with UK-wide travel)
    Sector: Fit-Out / Interiors / Refurbishment

    A leading Workspace team, specialising in fit-out and interior refurbishment projects, is seeking an experienced Site Manager to join their growing operation. This opportunity is being managed by a recruiter on behalf of the business.

    While the role is based out of Birmingham, the successful candidate must be willing to travel across the UK to support project delivery, as work is secured nationwide.

    The Role

    The Site Manager will be responsible for overseeing a variety of fit-out and refurbishment schemes, often within live environments. Projects are fast-paced and require a proactive, organised individual capable of managing multiple stakeholders and maintaining high standards.

    The successful candidate may be assigned to a range of secured projects and frameworks, including:

    * Financial sector works – including ATM installations, branch refurbishments and closures, and back-of-house upgrades (staff areas, kitchens, flooring, lighting, etc.)

    * Public sector refurbishment schemes – primarily involving live site environments, with works including internal upgrades and accessibility improvements (e.g. level access)

    Key Responsibilities

    * Oversee day-to-day site operations across fit-out and refurbishment projects

    * Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams

    * Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard

    * Coordinate works within live environments, minimising disruption

    * Liaise with clients and key stakeholders throughout delivery

    * Maintain accurate site documentation and reporting

    Requirements

    * Proven experience as a Site Manager within fit-out, interiors, or refurbishment

    * Strong experience working in live environments

    * Excellent organisational and communication skills

    * Willingness to travel nationwide as required

    * Flexibility to work out of hours (evenings/weekends) when necessary, with prior notice provided

    * Candidates should ideally come from a permanent/employed background rather than long-term freelance roles

    * Demonstrable commitment to project completion and long-term career development
