How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Architectural Technician

    Location: Southampton

    Salary: £30-35,000

    A forward-thinking, design-driven architectural practice is seeking to appoint an Architectural Technician to join their team in Southampton. The studio has an established track record of delivering successful projects alongside leading national house builders and continues to benefit from a strong and consistent pipeline of residential work. This is a great opportunity to join a growing, motivated team dedicated to delivering high-quality housing schemes.

    The role of Architectural Technician will involve:

    * Producing accurate, detailed technical drawings for large-scale residential developments
    * Working closely with architects, planners, consultants and clients to ensure design intent is delivered in line with regulations
    * Ensuring compliance with UK Building Regulations and NHBC requirements throughout all project stages
    * Supporting and assisting junior members of the technical team where required
    * Attending project and client meetings, contributing effectively to discussions and coordination

    The successful Architectural Technician will have:

    * A degree or HNC/HND in Architectural Technology or a similar discipline
    * Demonstrable experience working with national house builders within the UK
    * Strong technical ability with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
    * Proficiency in both Revit and AutoCAD
    * Good knowledge of UK Building Regulations and construction standards
    * Ability to independently manage workload across multiple live projects
    * Strong communication skills with a collaborative and proactive approach
