How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Plan and coordinate maintenance activities to maximise equipment uptime

    * Take increasing ownership of maintenance scheduling and prioritisation

    * Manage external contractors, ensuring compliance with safety standards (RAMS, permits, etc.)

    * Maintain accurate records using CMMS (Protean)

    * Ensure safe operation of mechanical, electrical, and site services (heating, compressed air, etc.)

    * Contribute to Health, Safety & Environmental compliance (COSHH, DSEAR, fire safety)

    * Provide technical support to production teams to minimise downtime

    * Deputise for the Maintenance Manager when required

    Skills and experience required

    Essential:

    * Experience in a maintenance, facilities, or engineering role within manufacturing

    * Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge

    * Experience coordinating contractors and service providers

    * Good understanding of Health & Safety and safe systems of work

    * Experience using CMMS and maintaining maintenance records

    * Strong organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills to respond effectively to breakdowns and operational issues.

    * Supervisory or team leadership experience

    Desirable:

    * Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar quality standards

    * Background in chemical, coatings, or process manufacturing

    * Electrical qualifications or multi-skilled engineering experience

    * Experience managing projects or budgets

    * FLT, IPAF, or similar certifications

    About You

    * Ambitious and motivated to step into a management role

    * Proactive, hands-on, and solutions-focused

    * Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety and compliance

    * Comfortable in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

    Working Environment

This role combines office-based planning with hands-on work across production and warehouse environments. You should be comfortable working around machinery, at height (with training), and using appropriate PPE.

    Reasons to apply!

    * Clear progression pathway to Maintenance Manager

    * Opportunity to lead projects and influence site performance

    * Supportive environment focused on development and growth

    * Be part of a business committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
