How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About the Role:
    As Associate Director of Clinical Services, you will provide visible clinical leadership across the organisation, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, safety, and clinical governance are consistently delivered. This role is ideally suited to candidates from a nursing background, though other registered healthcare professionals (e.g. physiotherapists, pharmacists) with strong leadership experience will also be considered.

    What you will do:

    Drive a culture of clinical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

    Oversee incident reporting, safeguarding, risk management, and root cause analysis.

    Support and implement clinical strategy aligned with organisational goals.

    Lead service improvements, innovation, and change management initiatives.

    Enhance patient pathways, flow, and overall service efficiency.

    Lead recruitment, retention, and development of the clinical workforce.

    Promote education, revalidation, and leadership development across teams.

    Drive improvements in patient safety, experience, and engagement.

    Oversee audits, inspections, and compliance with regulatory standards.

    Manage clinical budgets and support cost improvement plans.

    Work closely with senior leadership teams and external stakeholders.

    Essential Requirements:

    Registered healthcare professional: NMC Nurse preferred.

    Senior leadership experience: Significant experience within hospital settings.

    Clinical governance expertise: Strong background in risk management and service improvement.

    Leadership capability: Proven ability to lead teams, influence change, and improve outcomes.

    Communication skills: Excellent stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills.

    Financial management: Experience managing budgets and operational performance.

    Desirable:

    Master’s degree: In healthcare leadership or a related field (or equivalent experience).

    Sector experience: Experience across NHS and/or private healthcare.

    Specialist background: Exposure to areas such as theatres, critical care, or oncology.

    Innovation exposure: Experience with digital transformation or service redesign.
