How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for maintaining, improving, and securing The Wine Society’s technology platform.

This hands-on engineering role involves working across infrastructure, networking, cloud platforms, and security technologies to ensure systems are reliable, secure, and well managed.

Infrastructure Engineers collaborate closely with service teams, developers, suppliers, and business stakeholders to deliver technology improvements, resolve complex technical issues, and ensure new systems are implemented securely and effectively.

While each engineer will have a primary area of expertise, all team members are expected to contribute across the full platform and support one another, ensuring there are no single points of failure and knowledge is shared across the team.

We are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer with hands‑on experience running and modernising enterprise platforms across Azure and on‑premises environments. Strong in migrations, legacy integration, identity, networking, DevOps pipelines, and resilient infrastructure.

    * Build and operate hybrid Azure and on‑prem infrastructure

    * Understand end‑to‑end service and data flows

    * Modernise and migrate legacy platforms securely

    * Integrate cloud and legacy systems via APIs and middleware

    * Support and integrate DevOps CI/CD pipelines with hybrid platforms

    * Deliver data migrations and basic ETL

    * Execute compute, virtualisation, and storage migrations with low or zero downtime

    * Engineer enterprise storage and capacity solutions

    * Secure hybrid networks using Zero Trust principles

    * Drive automation and configuration consistency

    * Support hybrid identity with Active Directory and Microsoft Identity

    * Design and operate disaster recovery and backup solutions
