How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Are you an experienced MOT Technician seeking a new challenge within a reputable dealership?

    Our client, a well-established Automotive Manufacturer Dealer Group with over 50 years of operation in the UK, is recruiting for a qualified MOT Technician in South Birmingham.

    Basic salary up to £38,000 (negotiable depending on experience)
    OTE of £42,000+ with performance-related bonuses
    Weekly hours of 42, including weekend work

    Carrying out MOT tests in accordance with legal standards and manufacturer guidelines
    Diagnosing and repairing vehicle issues efficiently and accurately as an MOT Technician
    Performing vehicle health checks and providing detailed reports to customers as an MOT Technician
    Supporting additional repairs as required, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards
    Utilising up-to-date diagnostic tools and technology to identify faults
    Working collaboratively with the workshop team and supervisors to meet targets
    Engaging in regular training to stay current with technological advances in vehicle repairRequirements:

    Level 3 NVQ, City and Guilds, or equivalent qualification as an MOT Technician
    Valid MOT Tester’s certification and proven experience in a similar role
    Strong diagnostic skills and a thorough understanding of modern vehicle systems
    Ability to perform MOT tests confidently and accurately
    Excellent attention to detail and quality standards
    Full UK driving license
