How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 + Benefits
    Location: Oxfordshire / Hybrid working - 2-3 days onsite

    This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative environment, contributing to high-quality software delivery, and having a real impact on product performance.

    The Role

    As a Software Tester, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of applications across the business. You’ll work closely with developers, product teams, and stakeholders to identify issues early and help deliver robust solutions.

    Key responsibilities include:

    * Designing, developing, and executing test plans and test cases

    * Performing functional, regression, and exploratory testing

    * Identifying, logging, and tracking defects through to resolution

    * Collaborating with development teams to improve quality processes

    * Contributing to continuous improvement of testing practices

    * Supporting release cycles and ensuring smooth deployments

    Tech Environment

    You’ll be testing applications built with a modern, cloud-native stack, including:

    * Backend: .NET 8 / C#

    * Frontend: React, TypeScript

    * Cloud: Microsoft Azure (cloud-native architecture)

    * Architecture: Domain-Driven Design (DDD), clean architecture principles

    * Data: SQL Server, Cosmos DB

    * DevOps: CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows

    * Additional exposure: Event-driven systems, microservices, and containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes)

    This gives you a great opportunity to work in a forward-thinking engineering environment and gain exposure to modern practices and tooling.

    What We’re Looking For

    * Around 5+ years’ experience in software testing or QA

    * Strong understanding of testing methodologies and best practices

    * Experience with manual testing (automation exposure is a bonus)

    * Familiarity with defect tracking tools and Agile environments

    * ISTQB certification (preferred but not essential)

    * Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

    * Good communication skills and a proactive mindset

    Nice to Have

    * Experience with automation tools (e.g. Selenium, Cypress)

    * Exposure to API or integration testing

    * Experience working with cloud-based or SaaS platforms

    What’s on Offer

    * Salary in the region of £40,000 - £50,000

    * Hybrid working model (Oxford-based office)

    * Supportive and collaborative team environment

    * Opportunity to work on meaningful, real-world products

    * Ongoing learning and development opportunities

    If you’re a Software Tester looking for a role where you can work with modern technology, contribute to meaningful products, and be part of a genuinely collaborative team - this could be a great fit.
