How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Senior Town Planner - Northampton

    Are you an experienced Town Planner ready to take the next step in your career with a dynamic and forward-thinking property consultancy?

    I'm currently working on behalf of a well-established and growing consultancy that is looking to appoint a Senior Town Planner to join their team in Northampton. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working on a diverse project portfolio and wants to play a key role in shaping development strategies across the UK.

    The Role
    As a Senior Town Planner, you will take ownership of a wide range of planning projects, providing expert advice to clients and managing applications through the planning process. You'll work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, contributing to both strategic and immediate development opportunities.

    Key Responsibilities

    Managing planning applications from inception through to determination
    Preparing high-quality planning appraisals, statements, and reports
    Advising clients on planning policy, strategy, and risk
    Engaging with local authorities, stakeholders, and consultants
    Supporting junior team members and contributing to team development
    Assisting in business development and client relationship managementAbout You

    MRTPI qualified (or working towards chartership)
    Proven experience in a planning consultancy or similar environment
    Strong knowledge of UK planning policy and procedures
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    Commercial awareness and a client-focused approach
