How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Overview

    We're looking to appoint a motivated and forward-thinking Building Physics Engineer to join our Manchester team. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in delivering energy-efficient and sustainable design solutions across a wide range of UK projects.

    You'll work closely with M&E engineers and other disciplines, contributing to the growth of building physics expertise while staying at the forefront of low and zero carbon (LZC) technologies and modern design approaches.

    This role is well suited to someone who is passionate about sustainability, enjoys technical problem-solving, and wants to be part of an innovative and collaborative environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    In this role, you will:

    Carry out energy modelling and building performance analysis
    Deliver compliance work including Part L, EPCs, and overheating assessments (CIBSE TM52/TM59, Part O)
    Undertake SAP calculations and TM54 operational energy assessments
    Support early-stage design through passive design and simulation modelling
    Work collaboratively with design teams, contractors, and stakeholders
    Contribute to sustainable, low-energy design strategies across projects
    Assist with business development and promotion of building physics services

    What We're Looking For

    Experience in building physics, energy modelling, and simulation
    Strong working knowledge of IES VE (ModelIT, ApacheSim, VistaPro, MacroFlo, VE Compliance)
    Proven delivery of Part L compliance, EPCs, and overheating analysis
    Good understanding of UK building regulations
    Strong communication skills and a proactive mindset
    Full UK driving licence and ability to commute to the Manchester office
